What the Gitarrmässa is

The Gitarrmässa is the guitar fair of the Uppsala International Guitar Festival, now in its 23rd year. For two days, guitar makers and brands show their instruments at Uppsala Konsert & Kongress.

The festival runs from 7 to 11 October. On Saturday 10, Jack Gardiner, Henrik Linder, Kiko Loureiro and Per Nilsson give clinics during the day and share the stage in the evening.

What happens there

You playPick up a guitar, put the headphones on and play over a backing track. The app shows on the neck which notes work over the chord you hear.
You talk to the person who built itI'm Christophe Novalet, I built upScale and I'll be at the stand both days. Bring your questions, your bug reports and the features you miss.
Guitar teachers are welcomeIf you would like to use upScale with your students, come and tell me how you teach.

The app

An ear-first app for guitar and bass

You hear a scale over a chord, see it on the neck and play it over backing tracks. Chord tones glow, scale notes stay lit and the notes that clash fade back. It runs in the browser on Windows and Mac, and on iPhone, iPad and Android.
